Background • Born London, England • Last graduating class of Girls' Latin School, Boston, MA • Studied and completed coursework: Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Brown/RISD; Art Students' League, NYC Early Days as an Artist --Southampton to New York-- of H.M.S Queen Elizabeth 1. It was aboard that ship that she first experienced the background that is the vastness of the night sky, the incomprehensible depth of the ocean and with no land in sight, relative human insignificance when compared to the immensity of the cosmos. Experiments with scale, height and depth have informed her art/life practice ever since. Other mediums, new ideas A lifetime of travel, necessitated new forms of artistic expression, such as set design (Audelco award), Public Art, millinery and accessory design (MinMin Hats & Accessories, thinking caps and other necessities), video art and editing. Evolution to Mixed-Media Artist Art is real estate be it home, office, hotel, restaurant, factory or museum. Having secured a space resistant to gentrification, Yasmin is now ready to share the visual feast that has been inspired by travel to places both urban and rural and by viewing museum collections in London,Boston, Paris, Milan, New York, Bern, Los Angeles/Mexico, Washington D.C. and Jamaica. Be it street art or pride of place, journeys both inner and outer, the wall art of Gallery X 4 aims to amplify and inspire our common humanity.
