MGFreeman, “Mark,” is a classically-trained fine artist with a BFA from The University of Tennessee at Knoxville, graduating Magna Cum Laud. He applied his art toward commercial work for over 25 years, first in New York City with J. Walter Thompson, then creating his own advertising agency Studio M, Inc. in Knoxville. Known today as FreemanMelanconBryant Advertising, the firm is still today one of the premier creative agencies in the Southeast– carrying on the principles he instilled in the firm he founded in 1986. Retiring from advertising in 2011, he turned his attention back to his first love, fine art painting. His mixed media artwork has been shown throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. Though today primarily working in acrylic, his works of acclaim include quilted fabric design, batik and 3-dimensional modeling. Having moved to South Florida, he joined The Heart of Delray Gallery artists in March 2017 and thrives off the energy and breadth of work he and his fellow artists proudly display. He and his wife, Leslie Ogle, share time between their Delray Beach and Knoxville homes. Mark welcomes inquiries about his work. “I consider it a great blessing that I have the opportunity to make a living from an endeavor that is soul-enriching and uses my God-gifted talent to touch people’s lives.” I am a grateful broken humbled sinner who as a child of God is not, but is becoming. I am many things: a creative, a dreamer, an artist, a musician, an organic thinker, a lover of music and art, an admirer of God's bountiful blessings-- His artistry represented by the mosaic of His children, His landscapes and sunrises, His universe of existence that I meet with awe and discovery, a romantic...a soul in the midst of being shaped. A soul made truly complete in You!
