Deborah Rader is essentially a born artist and was raised in Detroit, Michigan. Her early professional background began in advertising & design for a variety of retail corporations. Working in a variety of mediums such as acrylics, oils, metal, clay, charcoal, pastel, ink & graphite has been the inspiration of her art. As a contemporary artist, Rader responds to her environment in a nontraditional manner whether it is the beauty of the landscape or the intensity of observing life and the reactions to the human condition. In whatever she creates, Rader imbues her work with a passionate and determined spirit. She has studied art at the Center for Creative Studies, Detroit, MI, Wayne State University, Detroit, MI, Oakland University & Community College, Rochester & Auburn Hills, MI, Birmingham/Bloomfield Art Center, Birmingham, MI, Anderson Ranch Arts Center, Snowmass Village, CO, where she was awarded a ceramic sculpture residency 2006/7. Her work has been shown in galleries in the Detroit area, Aspen, CO, Washington DC, and Florida. Raders work is part of private and corporate collections internationally.
