this piece is an encaustic on a ceramic surface on wood. Encaustic is painting with hot wax tinted with pure pigments and is extremely archival. The collage is sealed in with the wax, including a tiny perfume bottle, flowers, butterfly and an image of a saint. I tried to create something that is representative of what we consider beauty, a small sampling.
