Biography

Creativity comes in many different forms, mediums and expressions of one's inner being and as such Abstract Art lends it's deep vision to the eye of the beholder at times different from what the painter intended. As a young man in the 1980's,right out of college, I worked in the firm of Neuberger & Berman; at the time a private boutique investment house founded by one of America's greatest Art Patrons; Roy Neuberger. He told me he always loved art; all forms of it, which lead him to becoming a generous Patron of the Arts to such great artists as O'Keefe, Pollack, Avery and many, many more. The firm's office walls hung many great valuable pieces of art. One such piece caught my eye; it was a piece of Plywood encased in a glass shadow box with the single knot in the wood painted YELLOW. I questioned Mr.Neuberger's assistant as to how much did our boss spend on that piece of art? When told the price, I thought to myself I should definitely try my hand at art. Thus, began my journey in painting Abstract Art, oils and acrylics, all different sizes, canvas and wood. A once empty bare walls home is now covered with Abstracts overflowing as each year brings new works I have done late in the night and morning hours. Pure relaxation, allowing the mind to wander brings the paintbrush to draw its own vision of what my inner soul is thinking. I look deep into the finish work and am surprised at times what is staring back at me; a painting I didn't set out to paint, instead my mind overpowered my hand and let the thoughts flow deep to the paints to reveal that which I thought subliminally.
